When seeking help for the first time it can be really difficult to know which approach might be best for you.  The best way to move forward is to get in touch with me and we can discuss your reasons for seeking help.  The best way to do so is by telephone, but if that doesn't feel right we can correspond via email.

Getting to this first session usually feels nerve wracking.  Knowing this I make it a priority to create a welcoming atmosphere to smooth out this difficult first step.  It's your chance to get a feel for who I am and explore what you would like from therapy.

During our first contact I would be looking to gather information about what is making life difficult for you, so I can assess whether my approach is appropriate for your needs.  If I felt that I could help I would invite you for a first session. There is no charge for this telephone consulation.

Sessions are informal and conversational, providing a relaxed environment where we can get to know each other and you can gradually open up.  Hopefully somewhere that you feel safe to work through what has brought you to therapy.

Sessions last for the standard 50 minutes.

Sessions take place once a week.

Skype sessions are offered to clients on those occasions when meeting in person may not be possible.

Our inital meeting will give us the chance to explore what is troubling you and to decide if working together feels like the right decision.  The fee for this meeting is £60.

Fees for on-going sessions are discussed and agreed at our initial meeting.
